Bunker fuel sales at Panama increased by 6% in April 2026, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA). Total bunker sales at Panama was 486,461 metric tonnes (mt) in April 2026, compared to sales of 459,126 mt during the similar period in 2025. In April 2026, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 408,319 mt; 257,863 mt of VLSFO, 98,555 mt of RMG 380, 5,522 mt for marine gas oil (MGO), and 46,379 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered. The similar region saw total marine sales of 388,111 mt a year before in April; with VLSFO sales at 224,027 mt, RMG 380 sales at 121,890 mt, MGO sales at 2,485 mt, and 39,709 mt of LSMGO being sold. Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 78,142 during April 2026; the figure comprised 61,077 mt of VLSFO, 6,435 mt of RMG 380, 4,244 mt of MGO, and 6,386 mt of LSMGO. It saw total sales of 71,015 mt in April a year before; with VLSFO sales of 49,544 mt, RMG 380 sales of 11,442 mt, 1,456 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 8,573 mt.
