CISF has been designated as the Recognised Security Organisation (RSO) for ports by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, entrusting it with a critical role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime infrastructure. In line with this responsibility, the training programme was designed to equip CISF personnel with the knowledge and practical skills required for effective implementation of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code across Indian ports. The first week, conducted at Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, focused on regulatory frameworks, compliance requirements, and the practical aspects of ISPS Code implementation. The second week provided deeper insights into the maritime industry, port operations, and the specific safety and security challenges that CISF personnel are likely to encounter in their role as an RSO.
