DHL Freight has taken delivery of the first series-produced electric truck manufactured in Europe by SuperPanther. The eTopas 600 rolled off the production line at Steyr Automotive in Austria. It will be transferred to the Netherlands in August and is scheduled to enter service in September. The deployment follows a partnership between DHL Freight and SuperPanther that began with a memorandum of understanding signed in 2024. In 2025, DHL Freight tested the vehicle under real operating conditions in Austria, including on the route between Vienna and Wels. The company said the positive results led to the decision to deploy the truck in daily customer operations in the Netherlands. The eTopas 600 is the first electric truck that SuperPanther has developed for the European market. The Chinese manufacturer partnered with Steyr Automotive to produce the vehicle in Austria. DHL Freight said the delivery supports its strategy to expand the use of low-emission vehicles across its European road transport network. The company currently operates around 1,700 low-emission vehicles. The fleet expansion also supports the DHL Group’s target of achieving net-zero logistics-related emissions by 2050.
