HD KSOE Wins 504.8 Billion Won VLGC Order in Shipbuilding News 04/05/2026 HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the shipbuilding intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai, announced on May 4 that it has signed a contract with KSS Line Ltd. to build three Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs). The total order value is 504.8 billion won. The newly ordered VLGCs will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and are scheduled for delivery by the second half of 2029. Including this contract, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has secured orders for a total of 86 vessels valued at $9.35 billion so far this year, achieving 40.1% of its annual target of $23.31 billion. By ship type, the orders consist of 12 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers, 20 container ships, 18 Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)•Ammonia carriers, 7 crude carriers, 20 Petrochemical carriers (PC tankers), 2 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs), and 1 other vessel.
