Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) / General Rate Adjustment (GRA) for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Pakistan to the United States and Canada. The increase will apply to all cargo transported in 20-foot and 40-foot dry, reefer and special containers, including high cube equipment. Effective 1 August 2026, the carrier will introduce a rate increase of US$1,000 per container for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Pakistan to all U.S. and Canadian coasts. Hapag-Lloyd said the adjustment will apply to all containers gated in full from 1 August 2026 and will remain in effect until further notice.
