Greek owner Sea Pioneer Shipping has firmed up a pair of MR product tanker newbuilds at South Korea’s K Shipbuilding. Shipbuilding sources report the Vasilis Bacolitsas-led company called the options it held for the 50,000 dwt duo at $45m each after the initial two-ship order last November. The first two units will be delivered in 2025, while the latest pair is scheduled to join the fleet in 2026 or 2027. The newbuilds will be conventionally fuelled and scrubber-ready. The Athens-based company has three more kamsarmaxes under construction at Japan’s Oshima and an active fleet of 12 ships, comprised of seven bulkers and six tankers. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece
