In a statement Venezuela’s foreign ministry said the spill, identified through satellite imagery, is placing fragile marine environments at risk and disrupting fishing activity in affected areas. Caracas urged Trinidad and Tobago to take immediate action to prevent further incidents and to provide full transparency regarding the cause, scale and consequences of the spill.
