AMSA Marine Notice 13/2022 - Guidance on Oil Record Book - Part 1 Publications Loss Prevention Published: November 22, 2022 Contact author Download article pdf Guidance document for the recording of operations in the Oil Record Book Part I The Club wish to bring to Members attention that the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) have recently released Marine Notice 13/2022 . Although issued by AMSA the Marine Notice is applicable to all vessels required to complete the Oil Record Book – Part 1 and advises of the availability of guidance for the recording of operations in the Oil Record Book I -machinery space operations’, a circular that was ‘prepared and issued’ by the IMO on 06 Oct 2011.  The guidance document, MEPC.1/Circ.736/Rev. 2 , assists compliance with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) requirements on board ships by providing advice to crews on how to record the various operations in the Oil Record Book. In particular, the guidance document provides advice on using the correct codes and item numbers to ensure a more uniform port State control procedure. The AMSA notice serves as a reminder to the crews of the importance of accurate and complete recording of operations in the Oil Record Book. The guidance is to be applied in conjunction with the amendments to MARPOL Annex I that entered into force on 01 January 2011.
