Offshore rig owner Seadrill has been awarded a contract extension for one of its drillships. French major TotalEnergies exercised a seven-well priced option for the 2019-built ultra-deepwater drillship Sonangol Quenguela. This will extend operations in Angola by approximately 480 days and commit the rig into June 2028. The drillship has been working for TotalEnergies since May 2024. The deal, before this extension, was supposed to end in February 2027. The Sonangol Quenguela is operated by Sonadrill, a 50:50 venture between Seadrill and Sonangol. The company also operates the West Gemini and Sonangol Libongos drillships on bareboat charter. Seadrill provides management, operational and technical support to the JV and earns fees for these services. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsAngola Norway
