FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator has issued an investigation report into an incident where a bosun died after entering an enclosed space aboard a bulk carrier during cargo operations at Daesan Port. The incident On 25 July 2025, the Republic of the Marshall Islands-registered bulk carrier was berthed at MB5, Daesan Port, Republic of Korea. The ship was discharging the bulk cargo of wood pellets when the Bosun was found collapsed inside the CH No. 4 aft access hatch space. At 1033, the crew rescued the Bosun and brought him out onto the main deck, where medical first aid and CPR were immediately commenced.
