When a DSC distress call is activated, all receiving VHF radios automatically switch to Channel 16, which may interfere with ongoing communications on the wheelhouse radio, potentially jeopardizing crew safety, and leading to operational disruptions and costly claims. Make a Good Catch by implementing a policy related to the “auto switching” feature on VHF radios across the fleet.
