BigLift Shipping has placed an order for a new heavylift vessel — a sister to its Happy Star vessel — to be built at Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore with delivery scheduled for June 2028. The initial contract covers one ship with an option for a second. No price has been revealed. The ship will feature two Huisman 1,100‑tonne heavylift mast cranes enabling tandem lifts up to 2,200 tonnes, a full‑width weather deck, an adjustable tweendeck for flexible stowage and Finnish/Swedish 1A ice class ratings for operations in harsh conditions. “This newbuild is a bold and welcome addition to our fleet, empowering BigLift’s commitment to pushing the limits of heavylift shipping,” Johan Boer, managing director of BigLift Shipping, said. “With this vessel, we are fully prepared to handle the most demanding heavylift projects, delivering exceptional service to our customers worldwide while ensuring ample redundancy for every operation.” googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsHeavylift The Netherlands
