At the time of the incident the ship was bound for China with a cargo of bauxite loaded in Kuantan, Malaysia. Although it is not possible at this stage to identify the cause of the loss of “Bulk Jupiter”, Members are reminded that the potential for bauxite to liquefy has been covered in previous News Alerts, the most recent of which can be accessed by clicking here .
