Image Credit: CMA CGM French container shipping firm CMA CGM is set to deploy its new LNG-fuelled containership CMA CGM Notre Dame on its Asia-Europe service. The vessel made its maiden call at Shanghai’s Yangshan Port on May 22 before joining CMA CGM’s French Asia Line connecting Asia and Northern Europe , the company said in an email update on Monday . The 24,212 TEU vessel is described by the company as the world’s largest LNG-powered French-flagged container ship and is the first in a planned series of 10 vessels due for delivery between 2026 and 2028 . CMA CGM said the ship features AI-assisted navigation and energy-management systems aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing emissions. The vessel is equipped with an 18,600 m3 LNG fuel tank and energy-saving technologies, including an aerodynamic windshield system. The vessel will be officially named in Le Havre in early July .
