CLPe, a wholly owned subsidiary of CLP Holdings, on Monday (18 May) said it successfully completed the first LNG bunkering operation for a dry bulk carrier at the Hong Kong outer anchorage. Following a successful cool-down operation, the company supplied approximately 2,500 m³ of LNG to the vessel after it completed cargo operations at a nearby Chinese Mainland port. “Hot on the heels of CLP𝘦’s delivery of LNG bunkers to the first VLCC in Hong Kong waters earlier this year, this landmark operation represents another ‘first’ for the city,” said Ringo Ng, Managing Director of CLPe in a social media post. “It showcases our ability to extend LNG bunkering services to a wider spectrum of vessel types, accelerating the transition towards cleaner marine fuels.” Related : CLPe and CNOOC wrap up Hong Kong’s first STS LNG bunkering operation of VLCC   Photo credit: Ringo Ng Published: 20 May, 2026
