FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin UK MAIB has issued a safety bulletin video regarding a tug that capsized and sank off the coast of Scotland on the afternoon of 24 February 2023, tragically resulting in the deaths of both crew members. The tug was a conventional twin-screw vessel equipped with a towing hook behind the wheelhouse and a gob rope secured toward its stern. At the time of the accident, it had been assisting a passenger vessel on passage to port.
