The latest signing took place on 5 January 2026 with Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (PRS) These vessels represent a new-generation MPP heavy-lift concept in which the bridge and accommodation are located at the bow (fore-bridge / forward-superstructure)—a layout designed to unlock more continuous, flat deck space for today’s fast-evolving project cargo profile. For operators serving wind, energy storage, and industrial modules, “usable deck + deck strength + lifting capacity” is increasingly the commercial differentiator. Key capabilities of the 60,800 DWT new design (as released): Very large, continuous, flat deck area (described as ~15 basketball courts) +360 m² additional deck stowage area vs. aft-superstructure arrangements Deck strength upgraded to 4.5 t/m² 3 × 200t cranes with 400t combined lift Open-hatch configuration and a >41 m long cargo hold to accommodate long/heavy project pieces Container intake up to 3,180 TEU, primarily on deck—supporting operational preferences for ESS containers, battery packs and EV charging equipment Strong wind project suitability, with materially higher blade intake versus the existing 62,000 DWT aft-bridge type Delivery plan: the first vessel is scheduled for Q4 2027, with the remaining ships to be delivered in 2028—a clear signal of fleet planning anchored in medium-term project logistics demand and shipper requirements.
