Norway’s Solstad Maritime has lined up its construction support vessel Normand Jarstein for a multi-year subsea campaign after entering into a letter of intent with compatriot Reach Subsea covering work in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. The agreement includes a firm two-year period with an option for a further year, subject to the final contract. Reach Subsea disclosed that it had secured a letter of intent for IMR (inspection, maintenance and repair) and light construction work in the region and, in parallel, signed a separate LOI with Solstad for the charter of the vessel. The companies indicated that a commitment had already been made to mobilise the Normand Jarstein, with transit expected to begin this week ahead of final contract signature, which is anticipated shortly. The campaign will see the vessel deployed across a mix of subsea inspection and intervention scopes, with the Mediterranean and Black Sea continuing to draw demand for flexible IMR tonnage as offshore activity picks up.
