DeepOcean has strengthened its long-standing ties with Equinor after securing an extension to its subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) frame agreement. The renewal will keep the ocean services provider busy through 2026 and into 2027, using specialised IMR vessels and a wide suite of subsea capabilities. The contract covers offshore IMR work as well as onshore engineering and project management, which will be handled from DeepOcean’s Haugesund office and supported by its remote operations centre at Killingøy. Olaf Hansen, managing director of DeepOcean’s Europe operation, said the extension ensures continuity ahead of the arrival of the company’s next-generation IMR vessel Rem Ocean in 2027. The extension builds on the eight-year IMR contract the two companies signed in late 2024, which covers Equinor-operated fields on the Norwegian continental shelf and other assets in Europe.
