As reported by Reuters, speaking to the state-linked Fars news agency, he said Iran no longer sees the strait as the narrow waterway around the islands of Hormuz and Hengam. Instead, the IRGC now considers it a much broader “vast operational area” extending from the Iranian port city of Jask in the east to Siri Island in the west.
