Nord Gas Solutions has secured a contract to supply cargo handling and LPG fuel supply systems for eight new Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) ordered by BW LPG. The eight vessels will each have a capacity of 90,000 cubic metres and will be constructed at HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The contract was signed in August 2026. First VLGCs to be built at HD Hyundai Mipo The project will mark the first time VLGC vessels have been constructed at HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. Nord Gas Solutions will provide both the Cargo Handling System (CHS) and LPG Fuel Supply System (LFSS) for the newbuildings. The systems will be designed around BW LPG’s operational requirements, with a focus on performance, reliability and maintainability throughout the vessels’ lifecycle. “We are very pleased that Nord Gas Solutions can once again cooperate with BW LPG on a LPG newbuilding project,” said Patrick Ha, Sales Manager at Nord Gas Solutions. “Their continued confidence in our solutions reflects the proven performance, reliability, and lifecycle value of our cargo handling and fuel supply systems.” Partnership with BW LPG continues Nord Gas Solutions has worked with BW LPG for several years, providing equipment as well as service and after-sales support for vessels operating worldwide. The relationship dates back to 2005, when BW Gas supported Nord Gas Solutions in securing its first cargo handling system contract with HD Hyundai. The latest order also extends Nord Gas Solutions’ cooperation with HD Hyundai on gas carrier projects. Nord Gas Solutions is the new corporate brand created following Mutares SE & Co.’s acquisition of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, effective from 1 June 2026.
