Image Credit: UKMTO A cargo ship came under attack off the coast of Oman yesterday, according to a British government agency monitoring maritime security in the region. The incident happened eight nautical miles east of Limah, Oman , at 21:19 UTC on Monday , the UK Maritime Trade Operations agency said in a social media post today. “A tanker has reported being hit by an unknown projectile on the port side causing a fire, whilst travelling southbound, UKMTO added. “No casualties or environmental impact reported.” This is the third vessel attack reported near the Strait of Hormuz since the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding to reach a peace deal in 60 days . Separately, Axios reported, citing two US officials, that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired at least two missiles at commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
