NRS Corporation and Sojitz have signed an agreement with Tata Electronics to develop a logistics platform for semiconductor materials in Dholera, Gujarat. The planned hub will support Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fabrication facility, which is currently under construction. It will handle the storage and supply of high-purity chemicals, specialty materials and gases required for semiconductor production. Logistics hub to support Tata Electronics NRS and Sojitz plan to establish the facility within the Dholera Special Investment Region. Rather than serving only as a conventional warehouse, the hub will operate as a gatekeeper between material suppliers and Tata Electronics’ semiconductor plant. The platform is also intended to function as shared logistics infrastructure, allowing different suppliers supporting Tata Electronics to use the same specialized network. As part of the project, NRS and Sojitz will assess regulatory and permitting requirements before developing storage and handling facilities for semiconductor chemicals and specialty materials. The partners also plan to establish a logistics company dedicated to these operations. The hub will include systems for handling hazardous materials and specialty gases, alongside the quality assurance and safety procedures required for semiconductor supply chains. NRS expands semiconductor logistics activities The project will draw on NRS’ experience in chemical logistics, particularly the specialized handling requirements associated with semiconductor manufacturing. NRS has identified semiconductor materials logistics as a strategic business segment and is already developing related activities across Japan, North America, Asia and Europe. The Dholera project will extend that network into India’s growing semiconductor manufacturing sector. “As a specialist in chemical logistics, NRS has always placed the highest priority on safety, quality, and reliability,” said Hiroto Tanaka, President of N
