New York-listed Greek bulker owner Diana Shipping has signed a memorandum of agreement to sell to an undisclosed customer an 18-year-old panamax. The customer described only as an “unaffiliated third party” bought the 2006-built, 76,942-dwt ship Artemis with delivery to the buyer by March 8, 2024, at the latest. According to a statement by the company, the sale price for the bulker was $12.99m before commissions. Upon completion of the sale, the fleet of the Semiramis Paliou-led company will consist of 39 dry bulk vessels four newcastlemax, nine capesize, five post-panamax, six kamsarmax, six panamax, and nine ultramax. As of today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is approximately 4.5m dwt with a weighted average age of 10.59 years. Diana Shipping has been very active at the start of the year. So far, the company entered into time charter contracts with Glencore’s Singapore-based ST Shipping and Transport for the 2013-built, 75,403-dwt bulker Maera and with Stone Shipping for the 2016-built, 60,309-dwt DSI Aquarius.
