Höegh Autoliners is deploying a new cybersecurity service from Marlink and NORMA Cyber across its entire fleet, combining independent threat monitoring with direct incident response. The service connects NORMA Cyber’s Security Operations Centre with Marlink’s onboard cybersecurity capabilities. This means that when a potential threat is detected and assessed by NORMA Cyber, incidents requiring action can be passed directly to Marlink for investigation and response. Security data from onboard Unified Threat Management (UTM) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems is transmitted in real time to NORMA Cyber. Its specialists analyse the information and determine whether further action is needed. When intervention is required, Marlink takes over the investigation, containment and remediation. Since the company already has knowledge of the vessel’s connectivity, network and security environment, it can respond within the operational context of the ship. For Höegh Autoliners, which is among the first operators to adopt the combined service fleet-wide, the objective is to strengthen cyber protection without disrupting day-to-day vessel operations. “Maintaining uninterrupted operations is critical for us. This combined approach strengthens our ability to manage cyber risk effectively across the fleet,” said Christian Hall, Head of Global Cargo Operations and Digital Projects at Höegh Autoliners. The cooperation also gives shipowners the option to keep cybersecurity monitoring and incident response separate. NORMA Cyber can act as the independent monitoring partner, while Marlink remains responsible for securing the onboard environment and responding when an incident requires action. “Our work with NORMA enables faster, more effective response to cyber threats, helping customers reduce operational disruption and maintain continuity across their fleets,” said Tore Morten Olsen, President of Marlink Maritime. Lars Benjamin Vold of NORMA Cyber said the organisation wil
