A terminal at Montreal port is set to be hit by another wave of industrial action. The Termont terminal has been targeted as the local union claims the facility has a poor working schedule that negatively impacts on workers’ work-life balance. The strike is set to begin on Thursday unless the terminal can reach a compromise with its workers. The strike would affect 15% of the total volume handled at the port of Montreal, the largest port in eastern Canada. Longshore workers at Montreal have been without a collective agreement since December 31 last year. They have held a number of strikes this month. “Longshore workers are ready to sit at the bargaining table.
