On the 27th and 28th of June 2024, we held our AGM and Technical Seminar in Manila Philippines with the support of our Philippines Branch.
The theme this year was “Leaders of the Future”, and we had the opportunity to speak with cadets from the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific and hear first hand about their aspirations, hopes and concerns.
The young professionals participated in panel discussions, exchanged thoughts and ideas and had the opportunity to network and connect with experts in the industry and long-standing members of The Nautical Institute.
During our AGM, our members elected the new President, Captain Trevor Bailey MNM FNI
Captain Baily is keen to lead the discussions about alternative fuels while working closely with other professional organisations, keeping the focus on the role of the seafarers and the impact that these will have.
Immediate past President Capt. André LeGoubin MNM MA FNI, reflected on his two-year tenure traveling around the world, connecting with cadets, listening to their needs and understanding how The Nautical Institute can support the leaders of tomorrow.
