Created in partnership with the agency Africa Creative, the initiative reinforces the company’s strategic role in the global energy transition and industrial decarbonization. Built around the concept “If it’s essential to you, it has to do with Vale,” the campaign demonstrates how minerals such as nickel, copper, and iron ore are present in technologies that are already part of daily life — from electric vehicle batteries to artificial intelligence systems, to the digital infrastructure connecting people around the world. Mining as the Foundation of the Future The campaign starts from a concrete premise: minerals are found in nearly everything that sustains modern life, from cookware to smartphones, from goalposts on a soccer field to the structures spanning entire cities. And these same materials enable the technologies driving the energy transition. Nickel is indispensable for the batteries that store renewable energy and power electric vehicles. Copper is the backbone of the digital infrastructure connecting people, data, and systems on a global scale, with demand growing as artificial intelligence advances. Iron ore, in turn, is at the heart of briquette development — a Vale solution that can reduce CO₂ emissions in steel production by up to 10%, without the use of water. Innovation and Responsibility in Operations The campaign film features Vale employees highlighting practices already transforming operations: autonomous trucks and robots that enhance safety; ships powered by rotor sails that harness wind energy to reduce emissions; and, since 2024, 100% of the electrical energy consumed in mining operations in Brazil sourced from renewable sources — a concrete step toward the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Vale also helps protect an area equivalent to one million soccer fields of forest, and advances circular mining through the Waste to Value program, which in 2024 recovered more than 12 million metric tons of iron ore from tailings. Multi-Channel Presence Throughout 2026 The campaign launched nationally, with airtime during the Jornal Nacional news broadcast. It will be distributed broadly throughout the year across multiple channels: free-to-air and pay TV, streaming platforms, digital media, Out of Home (OOH), and social media.
