Energy major BP has awarded offshore contracting giant TechnipFMC an integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract for its Kaskida development in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract covers the design and manufacturing of subsea production systems, including 20,000 psi standardised subsea trees and manifolds. The scope also includes designing, manufacturing, and installing subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines. The award follows an integrated front-end engineering and design study by TechnipFMC. No financial details have been revealed but TechnipFMC categorised it as ‘substantial’ which for them is a contract between $250m and $500m. This award was included in inbound orders in the third quarter of 2024. “Kaskida is our latest iEPCI project with BP and is emblematic of our longstanding collaboration. Through early engagement, we’re leveraging our technological and integration capabilities to help BP successfully deliver Kaskida,” said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea for TechnipFMC.
