Nasdaq-listed Greek boxship owner Euroseas has landed a three-year charted deal for its 4,250 teu Synergy Busan at $35,500 per day. The Aristides Pittas-led firm with 23 ships on the water and two under construction said the 2009-built ship which is currently earning $25,000 per day should start its new 36-38-month contract in early December this year. Chief executive Pittas said the latest fixture which came at a strong increase compared to last-done, demonstrates that “activity is starting to pick up again and charter market terms remain at very healthy and firm levels”. He added that it also seems to indicate that the company’s investment decision to retrofit the vessel with energy-saving devices, installed during the ship’s drydock last year, “is appreciated by the market and paying off”. The charter is expected to contribute more than $29m of EBITDA for the 36-month contracted period and boost 2024 charter coverage to about 95% and 2025 to about 50%. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece
