A merican Club Circular No. 33 / 20 1 AUGUST 26, 2020 CIRCULAR NO. 33/20 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (PEME) AND COVID-19: AN UPDATE The significant restrictions on shipowners’ ability to perform regular crew changes, due to COVID19, continue to be a challenge for the maritime community. As a result, and superseding the previous policy notified in Circular 27/20 of June 26, 2020, your Managers are further extending the validity of American Club PEME certificates to October 15, 2020 for seafarers originating from Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine who: 1) currently hold valid American Club PEME certificates which have expired, or which are due to expire prior to October 15, 2020; and 2) are currently deployed onboard a vessel entered for P&I cover with the Club. For seafarers awaiting deployment, the current requirements remain in effect, as summarized at: https://www.american-club.com/page/pemes Any requests for exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Managers, and will require their prior approval.
