Offshore driller Constellation has won a new deal with energy giant Shell offshore Brazil for its ultra-deepwater drilling rig Alpha Star. The contract is agreed through a sublet of the rig for 30 days during the ongoing contract with Brava Energia, formerly known as 3R Petroleum. Work on the new contract is already underway. Upon the completion of the campaign with Shell, the rig will return to continue work for Brava Energia which is set to end in December this year. According to Constellation, Shell will use the rig to carry out workovers for replacing up to four pump boosting modules at the BC-10 field in Campos Basin. The field is operated by Shell with ONGC and Qatar Energy as its partners. Alpha Star is an ultra-deepwater semisub built in 2011.
