Japan – Entry into force of Amendments of 2014 to the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC) Amendments of 2014 to MLC will enter into force in Japan on 18 November 2017.   Japan had postponed acceptance of Amendments of 2014 to MLC due to procedural matters to amend the domestic Mariners Act.  However, as the amended Mariners Act was promulgated on 21 April 2017, the notice of acceptance was presented to and acknowledged by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on 18 May 2017.   The amended Mariners Act will also take effect on 18 November 2017.
