Greek dry bulk owner Globus Maritime has picked up a pair of kamsarmaxes in a deal with its chairman Georgios Feidakis. The Nasdaq-listed company is paying $54m for the two unnamed scrubber-fitted ships built in 2014 and 2016. The 2016-built 81,119 dwt unit came at $27.5m, while its two years older 81,817 dwt counterpart cost $1m less. An aggregate of $25m in cash will be paid upon deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the remaining balance to be paid in one lump sum without interest no later than one year after the deal was struck, the company said. Before the acquisition, Athanasios Feidakis-led Globus owned four kamsarmaxes, three ultramaxes and one supramax bulker.
