Image Credit: Ship & Bunker Mozambique -based physical supplier Oceania Bunkering Mozambique is set to start ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering operations at Beira Anchorage in October . The company will use its newly delivered Great Wall Energy 1 barge to supply LSMGO to vessels at the anchorage, the company told Ship & Bunker on Friday . The 4,283-DWT barge was delivered in 2026 and has a fuel-carrying capacity of about 2,500 mt . The barge is being positioned at Beira to provide a reliable LSMGO supply option for vessels transiting the Mozambique Channel . The company said the move comes as longer voyage routes around the Cape of Good Hope have increased the need for additional bunkering options in the region. “ The barge in Beira will provide a reliable LSMGO supply to vessels transiting the Mozambique Channel “At the initial stage, Oceania Bunkering will be supplying LSMGO exclusively,” a company representative said. “As our operations develop throughout the year, we plan to introduce additional marine fuels, including VLSFO.” Oceania Bunkering is supported through a partnership involving Petromoc and CFM Logistics , Mozambique's state-owned entities responsible for fuel and port-related infrastructure and operations.
