News 14 Feb, 2014 Brazil - Maritime Traffic Information System (SISTRAM) Implementation Update In October 2013 the Managers advised Members of the introduction of a new mandatory Maritime Traffic Information System (SISTRAM) in Brazilian waters; Brazil – Maritime Traffic Information System (SISTRAM) . The implementation date for the new system has since been changed by the Brazilian Authorities a number of times. We have now been advised by our Brazilian correspondents, Brazil P&I, that the Brazilian Navy has postponed the implementation of SISTRAM until further notice due to difficulties being encountered by some vessels using the SISTRAM reporting website. Until the system is fully functioning and implemented, vessels may submit reports voluntarily by email to: controle@cotram.mar.mil.br Members requiring further guidance should contact the Loss Prevention department .
