SHANGHAI OFFICE Members are advised that, in further efforts to contain the outbreak, the Central Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government have announced that (a) the Lunar New Year holiday has been extended by 3 days up to and including February 2, and (b) businesses operating in Shanghai may not resume work before February 10. The Managers’ Shanghai staff will resume work on February 3 but will be working from home until the authorities confirm they may return to the office. Staff will be available on email and mobile phones. Their contact details can be found on the Club’s website: https://www.american-club.com/page/contacts-china HONG KONG OFFICE The Hong Kong Government has also just issued guidance in regard to office attendance for both its own personnel and those in the private sector. The guidance - which so far as your Managers can discern is being followed by all offices involved in legal and financial services, including the local offices of Group P&I clubs - is that staff should work from home unless there is an urgent need to attend an office. Your Managers’ office in Hong Kong is following that guidance, and its staff will be working from home until at least the end of the current week.
