The S-100 framework marks a step forward by enabling the integration of diverse datasets within a single Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). At its 106th session in November 2022, the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted resolution MSC.530(106), establishing Performance Standards for Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS). This resolution was subsequently revised by MSC.530(106)/Rev.1 to incorporate route exchange functionality.
