Norwegian offshore vessel player Rem Offshore has returned to fellow shipbuilder Vard for another offshore wind commissioning service operation vessel newbuild. The VARD 4 19 design vessel, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, will be the third CSOV unit delivered by the Fincantieri-controlled yard after the Rem Power and the Rem Wind in 2023 and 2024, respectively. The 85-m-long unit will be equipped with a diesel-electric and battery hybrid propulsion system with “substantial volumes” set aside for future upgrades or conversion to zero emission energy sources, Fosnavåg-based Rem said, without revealing the price tag. Vard Vung Tau yard in Vietnam will build and deliver the vessel in the fourth quarter of 2026. In March, the Åge Remøy-led operator of 19 OSVs also contracted its first methanol dual-fuel subsea construction vessel at compatriot yard Myklebust Verft for delivery in 2026. The deal came with an option for an additional newbuild. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway Offshore Wind
