(SHI) for its newly developed floating offshore wind turbine foundation – SnapWind Float. The certificate was presented during Gastech 2025 in Milan, marking another significant step toward advancing renewable energy technologies for the offshore sector.Leveraging its extensive offshore engineering expertise, SHI has developed the SnapWind Float – a cost-competitive floating substructure optimized for next-generation 15MW offshore wind turbines. The design features a lightweight, unmanned semi-submersible structure with a passive ballast system and optimized mooring lines, ensuring stability in harsh offshore environments while minimizing operational risk. Its performance has been validated through comprehensive numerical simulations and basin model testing, confirming its robustness and efficiency.The SnapWind Float also provides an execution-oriented solution optimized for developing floating offshore wind farms in regions where skilled workforce, heavy lifting equipment and available workspace are limited.
