Italy’s Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has secured an expansion of its work scope on the Bouri Gas Utilisation Project (BGUP) in North Africa, with the overall contract value now exceeding €70m ($82m). The Milan-listed company, part of the Naples-based Marnavi Group, confirmed that its existing agreements with Saipem had been revised to reflect additional work and extended timelines as the project progresses. The increase is split across NextGeo and its subsidiary Rana Subsea, with both entities picking up additional scope tied to offshore installation and subsea operations. NextGeo’s own contract for survey and installation support was lifted by €4m–€6m, alongside an extension of operational duration. The work involves deploying two vessels — NG Worker and NG Surveyor — to carry out offshore touchdown monitoring using work-class ROVs, as well as construction support activities including pipe delivery during installation campaigns. The larger share of the increase sits with Rana Subsea, whose contract for diving, subsea services and installation work was boosted by €25m–€30m. This followed the exercise of options and the award of a new tender covering additional activities within the same development. The company indicated that the revisions reflected both the evolving scope of the BGUP project and the client’s operational requirements as work moves forward offshore. Chief executive Giovanni Ranieri said the contract uplift highlighted the group’s position in complex offshore projects. “The integration of contracts within the Bouri Gas Utilization project represents further recognition of the operational solidity and reliability of the NextGeo Group in complex offshore environments,” he said.
