Tanker owner Terntank has returned to China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou for more battery hybrid, methanol and wind assist-ready ships. The company established on the Swedish island of Donsö, which now operates from Skagen in Denmark, has added one further 15,000 dwt unit to three already under construction at the yard and secured an option for an additional newbuild. The first three newbuilds, powered also by gasoil and biofuels, have been designed by Kongsberg and are due for delivery during the second half of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. The ships will carry chemicals, oil products, and biofuels and be equipped for shore power. Terntank, which currently operates nine modern chemical and product tankers ranging from 10,000 dwt to 15,000 dwt and an average age of six years, will see the latest newbuild delivered in the first quarter of 2027. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsDenmark
