Norwegian offshore vessel owner Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS) has offloaded another one of its platform supply vessels. The company said in a stock exchange filing it has sealed a deal to sell the PSV Energy Passion for $28m, with delivery expected around mid-April 2026. Golden Energy said the transaction will generate a booked gain of about $5.4m. After repaying the vessel’s lease and covering break fees and other transaction costs, GEOS should see net proceeds of roughly $14m. The sale forms part of a broader fleet reshaping effort by the Ålesund-based owner as it looks to strengthen its balance sheet following a turbulent period. Once the deal is completed, Golden Energy’s fleet will consist of the multipurpose support vessel Energy Duchess, the PSVs Energy Paradise and Energy Pace — sister vessels to Energy Passion — and the 2005-built PSV Energy Swan. Golden Energy has been actively selling tonnage in recent months as it works to improve liquidity. Earlier this year the company agreed to sell the MPSV Energy Empress in a deal reported by Splash, followed by another PSV disposal as part of the same strategy. The sales come after the Oslo-listed company flagged financial pressure in its third-quarter 2025 results, when management said it was reviewing options to strengthen liquidity. As part of those efforts, Golden Energy secured a short-term $5m loan in December 2025 to cover immediate funding needs. During the same month the company also raised about $31.7m through a private placement. Most of the funds were used to clear overdue payables, settle salary and tax obligations, repay several short-term loans and cover transaction costs, while a smaller portion was retained for general corporate purposes. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway
