Supertanker owner DHT Holdings is pushing further with its fleet renewal, agreeing to sell its oldest vessel for $51.5m. The New York-listed company said the 2007-built 301,000 dwt DHT Bauhinia is expected to be handed over to its new owner in June or July 2026. The ship is debt free and DHT expects to book a gain of about $34.2m on the sale. The sale continues a clear pattern for the VLCC specialist. Late last year, DHT struck a deal to sell two of its three oldest VLCCs, offloading the 2007-built DHT China and DHT Europe for a combined $101.6m. Both vessels were Hyundai-built and ranked among the oldest in DHT’s fleet, which currently stands at 25 VLCCs, with two still set to exit. Earlier in the year, the company also sold the 2011-built DHT Lotus and DHT Peony, both constructed in China, for a combined $103m. Those deals left DHT operating an all Korean-built VLCC fleet.
