Baltic Dry Index Rises for 2nd Day in Dry Bulk Market,International Shipping News 29/04/2026 The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk freight index, which monitors rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, was up for a second session on Tuesday, adding 11 points to 2,677 points, driven by gains across all vessel segments. The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes including iron ore and coal, advanced 22 points to 4,304 points; and the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 9 points to 1,966 points. Among smaller vessels, the supramax index went up 2 points to 1,542 points.
