Japanese shipping major Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has taken full control of K Line Wind Service, an offshore wind joint venture held with Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen, a subsidiary of K Line. K Line Wind Service (KWS) was established in 2021, with a view toward the anticipated growth of offshore wind power generation. KWS is engaged in the offshore wind support vessel business, including operating work and geotechnical survey vessels. According to K Line, the goal of the acquisition is to accelerate decision-making and achieve more integrated business operations to facilitate KWS’s growth and enhance the corporate value of the K Line Group as a whole. Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen, together with its subsidiary, Offshore Operation Co., will continue to support KWS’s businesses as part of the K Line Group.
