The Management Committee of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Sea Port Authority, chaired by President Paolo Piacenza, has unanimously approved a 2026 budget adjustment allocating new resources to priority development projects at the ports of Corigliano-Rossano and Vibo Valentia Marina. A total of €200,000 has been allocated to the port of Corigliano-Rossano to fund the technical work required to remove a wreck from the port basin, an essential operation to restore optimal safety conditions and full operational capacity. A further €150,000 has been directed to the port of Vibo Valentia Marina for technical design services for the construction of a breakwater extension, a strategic infrastructure project aimed at strengthening the port’s operational capacity. The budget adjustment results in increased revenues and expenditures of EUR€1,686,786.65 each, bringing total revenue to EUR€26,370,820.41 and expenditures to €101,911,494.65. The resulting deficit of EUR€75,540,674.24 is fully covered by a portion of the administrative surplus from the 2025 financial statement, which totalled EUR€128,900,497.23. The Committee also unanimously approved a supplementary maritime state concession submitted by CADI Srl at the port of Vibo Valentia Marina, covering an area of the Fiume dock. The concession will enable the company to provide a refuelling service for pleasure craft, extending the port’s offering into recreational boating. President Piacenza described the decisions as confirming the Authority’s commitment to balanced development across its entire port network, addressing both immediate safety and efficiency needs and longer-term strategic infrastructure planning while reinforcing support for economic operators and private investment across the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian port system.
