Multiple media outlets across the UK reported over the weekend that Spanish state-owned shipbuilder Navantia is in advanced talks to buy Harland & Wolff, a British yard that has recently gone into administration. The potential sale would be for all four of Harland & Wolff’s yards in Belfast, Devon, the Isle of Lewis and Fife. Harland & Wolff entered administration last month after a request for a £200m ($261m) facility from the UK government’s export credit agency fell through, the second time in just five years when it has entered administration. The shipbuilder is most famous for building the Titanic more than a century ago. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsSpain United Kingdom
