Norwegian combination carrier owner Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC) has secured a two-year fixture for one of its Cleanbu vessels as it looks to take advantage of firm conditions in the product tanker market. The Oslo-listed company said the 2021-built Bass has been fixed to a leading global energy player, adding that the main terms of the charter were agreed in mid-February, with the contract due to start in May 2026. Chief executive Engebret Dahm said the deal allows the company to capture value from the current strength in the product tanker segment, and that it also deepens KCC’s relationship with the unnamed charterer. While the vessel will operate under the new time charter, the company said its remaining seven Cleanbu vessels will continue trading in its core combination trades, moving both dry bulk and liquid cargoes.
