The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) has appointed Matthew Grant to its Board of Directors. The appointment was confirmed by Canada’s Minister of Transport, Steven MacKinnon, and took effect on June 10, 2026. Grant is a senior energy professional and lawyer. He currently serves as Director of Oil Sands Business Development and Low Carbon at Enbridge Inc. He brings experience in commercial development, new energy technologies and corporate governance. Grant holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mount Allison University. Based in Calgary, he has also served on several not-for-profit boards. His three-year term officially began on June 2, 2026. Kurt Slocombe, President and CEO of the Prince Rupert Port Authority, welcomed the appointment. He said Grant’s legal, commercial and boardroom experience will support the port’s long-term strategic objectives. The Prince Rupert Port Authority Board consists of seven members. Municipal, provincial and federal governments each appoint one director. The remaining directors are appointed by the federal government in consultation with the Port User Nominating Committee.
